Live Performance/ DJ Techniques with Ableton Live

UPSTART and The Brooklyn Digital Conservatory (NYC) are partnering up to offer a special 14 hour, 2 day course on Live Performance/DJ Techniques in Berlin with Dan Freeman (CØm1x), Ableton Live with Ableton Certified Trainer and Director of the Brooklyn Digital Conservatory. 

The course will cover the following topics:
A. Setting up a basic DJ Set
B. Building DJ Effects
C. Setting up Ableton for a Live band
D. Uses of Ableton’s Link
E. Processing live Vocals with Ableton
F. Looping techniques in Ableton Live and PushG. Using ClyphX
H. Integrating video into a live set up

This course will be unique for several reasons:

• Enrolled students will receive Certificate of Completion with the Brooklyn Digital Conservatory and Upstart logo.

Instructor:
This 14 hour course will be taught in English by Ableton Certified Trainer and Director of the Brooklyn Digital Conservatory Dan Freeman (CØm1x). Dan has been a senior instructor at Dubspot (New York) since 2011 and has given workshops on Ableton Live at festivals, universities and schools worldwide including at: SXSW (Austin, US), Harvard University (US), The Strøm Festival (Denmark), IATEC (Brazil), AIMEC (Brazil) The Universidad de Caldas (Colombia), The Universidad de Santiago (Chile) and at Sonar (Spain).

Dan Freeman is also currently on the faculty of the New York University’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music where he designed the Ableton Live curriculum and he oversees New York’s largest Ableton User Group. He is a recognized specialist in the use of Ableton Live for live performance and the Ableton Push having worked with numerous artists as a consultant and was chosen to demonstrate both the Push 1 and 2 for its U.S. launch events.

Requierement: Basic knowledge of Ableton Live
Optional requierements: Laptop, Ableton Push 1 or 2 is suggested but absolutely not required to attend.
